The girls stepped out of the fitting room, fully clothed, each holding onto a hanger with a single bikini attached to it. Alexa smoothed out her mussed up hair and ran the back of her hand over her forehead to wipe off some sweat. Chase stood not too far off from them, and as the girls approached him on their way to the cash register, he spoke up.

“Everything work out, ladies?” he said with a grin on his face.

“We’re great,” said Alexa, pushing a tendril of hair away from her face. “We’re taking these.” They continued to walk past him, his eyes following them as they walked up front.

“Alexa,” started Mandy. “I got this bikini bottom all wet.” She held it up and showed her friend. Alexa tittered and looked at it closer.

“We’ll just buy it,” she said. “The chick at the counter won’t notice anything.”

“It’s $100,” said Mandy. “I definitely can’t afford that.”

“Just give it here,” Alexa said, taking it out of Mandy’s hands. “I’ve got my Dad’s Amex. I’ll buy them both.”

Mandy sighed as her fear subsided. She reached out and pinched Alexa’s side fondly, Alexa returning her affection with a knowing smile. At the counter, the cashier folded and bagged the suits, swiped Alexa’s Dad’s credit card, and handed everything back to Alexa. Mandy gripped on to her friend by the waist and gave her a thankful hug.

“That was pretty insane,” admitted Alexa as they walked out of the store.

“I’ve never done anything remotely like that,” said Mandy, her heart still pumping with adrenaline.

“That’s what this summer is all about,” said Alexa. “Let’s get out of here and get you home, working girl.”

The laughed together, embraced, and made their way through the mall toward the parking lot.
